Supporting Giraffe Conservation Through the Cheetah Race
Eagle AC's Cheetah Race took a stride for the wild this year, with Fota Wildlife Park directing its funds towards the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. This incredible initiative helps protect and preserve the Rothschild Giraffe, a species facing numerous challenges and habitat loss across Africa. Eagle AC is delighted to be involved in supporting & contributing to vital efforts to secure the future of these majestic animals.

A Tradition of Giving Back
Since 2009, the Cheetah Race in association with Fota Wildlife Park has been a firm favourite on the race calendar in Cork. Not only a unique road race, but it’s also a very successful fundraiser for conservation projects that are a beacon of hope and action. Past events have supported native species conservation, and this year together with you the 881 participants who stood on that start line we are thrilled that Fota Wildlife Park have decided to dedicate the race contributions to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
Supporting Local Heroes: The Tommy Ryan Eagle AC Carrigaline 5 Mile Road Race
But there's even more to the story. The Tommy Ryan Eagle AC Carrigaline 5 Mile Road Race, held on February 19th, 2023, with 327 finishers on the day. This time, we joined hands with Carrigaline Meals on Wheels and the Foróige HERON GYDP Carrigaline, donating €625 to each from the race proceeds. These are the folks making a tangible difference in our community, and we're honoured to be part of their journey.

A Grateful Salute
Eagle AC's accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of the committee, organizers, volunteers, and not least you the participants & supporters. To all who laced up, put in the miles, and contributed to these vital causes, we salute you. The spirit of staying active and giving back continues to thrive, promising a brighter future for our wildlife friends and the communities we value. Keep running strong, Eagle AC!
